What are and how does video advertising work on YouTube?
Video is an extraordinary tool for establishing authentic contact with potential customers. The videos convey teachings to us, inspire us and entertain us. We share them with friends and we talk about them for a long time after having watched them.
Any video posted on YouTube can become an ad. Video ads appear before other videos on YouTube, as well as when playing videos and in search results. You only pay if someone interacts with the ad. If the announcement is skipped before 30 seconds or before the end, no charge is received.
The video to be used, whose maximum recommended duration is less than 3 minutes, must be uploaded to YouTube and can be provided by the client or requested to KAUKY.COM as an additional service.
YouTube offers a wide range of targeting options to reach the most suitable customers. Targeting can be based on age, gender, location, interests, and other factors.
Ads can run in different formats including True View in-stream and in-Display ads
TrueView in-stream ads
TrueView in-stream ads appear in videos posted on YouTube or in videos, games, and apps on the Google Display Network. In addition, they can be viewed in YouTube videos embedded in other sites. They can also appear on YouTube apps for Android and iOS, as well as on m.youtube.com (on iPad and Android)
Viewers can choose to ignore the video ad after 5 seconds. If they choose not to ignore the video ad, the number of YouTube video views is increased when the viewer watches 30 seconds of the video ad (or the entire duration if the ad is shorter than 30 seconds) or interacts with the video, depending on the event that occurs first. Interactions with videos include clicks on call-to-action overlays, cards, and companion banners. If the main goal is to get the most views, we recommend creating videos of at least 12 seconds.
TrueView in-display ads
In-display ads can appear on YouTube and on the Google Display Network. In particular, they can be published on the search and display pages of the YouTube website version for desktop and mobile devices, as well as on the program version home page for desktop and YouTube mobile apps. The ad unit consists of a thumbnail image and a maximum of three lines of text. The user who clicks on the ad is redirected to the YouTube channel or view page that allows viewing the video (the video does not play in the ad unit). Typically, within this video type, call-to-action overlays are used to trick users into accessing the advertiser’s site.
